COVID-19 Corona Virus Campaign

Due to the worldwide outbreak and pandemic Covid-19, the community is facing many problems. This is the disaster situation which occurred suddenly. People were not much aware of this situation and were in shock due to the lockdown. In the Yavatmal district, there are 16 people affected due to Covid19. Entire people who came in contact with these people and family are quarantined. In Yavatmal many areas are sealed due to such a situation and the district is also on lockdown. About 36000 people were home quarantined in the Yavatmal district. People faced problems such as a shortage of food grains, vegetables, essential supplies, and preventive equipment.

In the Yavatmal district, we identified the problems and listed out vulnerable persons and families, those who were in distress. GSMT initiated the support and distributed food kits and hygiene kits such as soap, sanitizers, masks, and gloves to the most vulnerable 1700 families as female sex workers, migrant people, people living with HIV/AIDs and people living with a disability. During the Pandemic, GSMT worked in coordination with district administration and got the letter and identity card to our 15 staff members from District Administration to work effectively with the community.
